i need help with purchasing a new laptop?

i want to buy a laptop but really know nothing about hard drive size, memory, processor, video cards, brands, etc. i do know that i want a wide screen and i want a keyboard number pad that is on the keypad off to the right like a standard computer.

i surf the net, download music, watch stuff on u tube, myspace, download pictures, email, and just games like solitaire. i use webcam because i have friends & family out of town.

can you help me w/ some recommendations i want a good computer that won’t run out of memory and is nice.

Here is a link to the Gateway I just purchased. It is in the third row down. $698.00. 3GB of RAM, and a 320GB HDD! I am so in love with this notebook!
Also, the HP just to the right of it is only $598.00.
My wife is buying that one. My niece has one very similar to this HP and it is a very good notebook.
Either one of these would be perfect!
