Follow up:Doesn’t believing in God automatically make you a determinist?
This is the type of answer I commonly get from people when I ask this question:
“God knows what choice you will make, think of it this way if you are playing a card game and the dealer( God ) knows what you have in your deck, and how you use it. Do you still have the freedom to do differently? Yes you do, but God knows what you will do”
What I think is wrong with that answer is that if God knows how you are going to choose, then he knows the choice already and in reality the future has already been determined. You think you have a choice, but you don’t. Because although you might have the appearance of multiple choices, God knows what choice you will make, and you can only make one choice.
Isn’t omniscience and free will mutually exlcusive?
I have determined that you are correct. You are incorrect only in that you waste your time trying to explain this to those who don’t want to know.
