Alienware laptop running slowly off and on while playing games?

I have a brand new Alienware laptop. When I try to play most games (such as Warhammer Online, WH40K: Dawn of War, Heroes of Newerth) it runs fine for a few minutes, then starts to run slowly for a few minutes, then runs fine for a few minutes, and so forth. Toying with video card settings and in-game graphics settings haven’t helped. Some games, such as Warcraft 3, run just fine.

How can I fix this?

Download a program called Advanced System Care 3 from the website. It’s free and it comes with a program called Game Booster, as well as tools to free up random memory and space on your computer for maximum gaming
