I have a question or two about Xbox?

I have a few questions about Xbox/ Xbox 360 and the games.
So if you want to play with other players online, do you just need the Xbox/ 360 and internet connection? Or do you need like a card thing? And are the games like Halo like, entertaining? Yes, I am a girl, but I like that kind of stuff. No lies hahah.
Sorry, I know like nothing about Xbox. I am a nintendo girl. XDD

Xbox LIVE is currently the only online console gaming service that charges a fee. You may choose not to pay and still have an Xbox LIVE membership, but your membership will be a Silver membership. With a Silver membership, you cannot play games online, download free game demos, and do most things that you would want to do with an online console. You can choose to pay with a credit card, or, there are pre-paid cards that you can buy from most retail stores that have 25-digit codes on them that you may purchase for an Xbox LIVE gold membership. These cards come in 1, 3, and 12-month denominations. The 1-months usually cost 8-10 dollars, the three-months usually around 20, and the 12 months are around 60 (this is the last time I checked).

As to games like Halo, they can get very competitive and repetitious. However, this is true for most competitive online First-Person-Shooters. For me, they get my adrenaline going and I really get into the game. It can be a lot of fun. It depends on the person.
