What are some great, new family friends board/card games to play?

Every Thursday night my husband and I get together with his family for a dinner and game night. We play things like Bananagrams, Catchphrase and Balderdash.
We’re constantly looking for new games to play though in order to keep things fresh and interesting. We’ve established a rule were once a month someone has to bring a new game for us to play and this month my husband and I have to bring the game.

I’m looking for a some fun/interesting games to play with 4-10 people. Nothing dirty because sometimes kids as young as 10 play with us.
I can’t bring any of the “classics” like Clue, Monoply, Life, Uno, etc. I’m looking for a fun, new, family friendly game.
Any suggestions?

Some great games to maybe start you off with would be;

Carcassonne
Settlers of Catan

If you get the game with expansions, they will both handle 6 players each. Very easy to learn and quite in depth! Playing time varies but generally 1 hour!
