Question for moms of toddlers…?

My son is currently 10 months old. I always talk to him and we play little games. I also read to him and point things out like animals and colors…sometimes numbers. My question is though is this enough? Like I know kids a little older remember these things but how do you actually go about teaching them all this so they can grasp the concepts? I feel like I need to break out with some flash cards lol. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks gals!

Don’t worry about flash cards, just pay close attention to your son and embrace the ‘teachable moments’. For example, when you’re on a walk and he picks up a pine cone, start talking about the pine cone and where it came from, have him touch the pine tree and talk about the tree and how it’s an evergreen and how it stays green all year long, etc…..

In the spring when he notices the flowers starting to bloom talk about the pretty colors and the nice scent of flowers and how they grow in the spring from a tiny seed….start planting a garden and water it with him. Then you can tie in the bees and how the flowers have to smell pretty and look pretty to attract bees……bees make honey. Go to the store and buy some honey….etc….

This can be done with just about everything.
