Will this computer play modern games?

I just got a HP Pavilion A6050Y and I want to know will it play most of today’s modern games on low-medium settings. The two main things I’m worried about is the processor and video card. Here are the specs.

Intel Pentium D925 (3.0 GHz, 4 MB, 800 MHz). Is this a duo core processor?
1GB DDR2-533MHZ Dual Channel SDRAM (2X512MB)
250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3GB/S hard drive.
Light Scribe 16x DVD +/- Supermulti Drive
256MB Nvidia Geforce 7500LE (PCI express, 800mhz, 64bit, 550MHZ cpu, 400MHZ RAMDAC)
Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium.

Spent about $850 on this computer.

PS: I will be meanly playing battlefield 2142, Oblivion IV, WoW, F.E.A.R. and GTA San Andreas.

Looks like you’re into a bad shock. The video card is NOT a gaming card. It might be able to pull off wow maybe GTA, but bf2 will give it trouble, and oblivion will stomp it useless.

It’s really impossible to find much about the 7500LE, seems to be more of a 7300 model renamed. Very poor performer (compare it to the 7300GT). The cpu is dual core cpu, but a very low-end Intel cpu. http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu.html?modelx=33&model1=440&model2=464&chart=167
It would be better going it a AMD x2 cpu if on a budget or Dual core2 if not on a budget, and try to spend some money on a good video card. Use the charts above to help out. I spent $850 and got a X2 4000+, 2gb of ddr2 800 ram, 2 sata harddrives, dvd-r, full size case, and a 8800 GTS 320mb video card. Far superior system able to play any game on the market with full details and “candy eye”. You might want to rethink it out.
And with problems running games on vista, it will be far worse in performance. Many dropped from 100+fps to 15fps just by changing to vista.
