Card Games Vs Computer

which video card is better. Radeon HD 4850 x2 VS. HD 4890?
I’m building a nice high end gaming computer for around $1300 or $1400
around December or January
and I have everything that I want except the graphics card decided on, so which one is better and which one will benefit more from running on crossfire in the future
the 4890 and the 4850 x2 are the exact same price.
I have heard that the 4890 is not much better than the 4870 is this true and what if any difference is there in games?
I have heard that the 5*** series is coming out soon. is this true and how much do you think that a card in this series would cost?
I am only willing to pay around $250 for a card no more.
Okay,
Firstly, the 4890 is a better buy than the 4850 x2 as it isnt so dependant on driver support for it to work properly (ergo, if there isnt the right driver support only one core of the 4850×2 will be used and it will suck)
Secondly, the next release of cards is due to co-incide with the release of Windows 7 and you can expect the usually inital high prices which will drop over time. At the same time you can expect the previous generation of cards to drop in price by ALOT.
The 4890 is basically an overclocked 4870 and id choose nVidia personally. They are just better, perhaps a little more expensive but theres good reasons.
