Any good card games you know?

We play a lot of cards at work and we’ve been playing the same old games over and over. I’m just wondering if any knows any good cards games (2-4 player) that we could play. Right now we play rummy, teg, spades, hearts, speed and poker. I tried looking online but their are just too many to sort through. I want to know some good ones.

This is probably my all-time favorite card game to play, definitely in the top 3 along with Speed and Euchre.

“”Kent, also known as Signal, Cash, Animals, is a four-player card game, played in teams. Kent is played with a standard deck of cards. The players rely on luck, speed and silent communication to win the game.

The object of Kent is to have four of a kind in one’s hand and then get one’s partner to call Kent. Before the game starts, each team is supposed to create a non-verbal or verbal signal, a special way to notify one’s partner that one has Kent.

How to play

The game starts with each team secretly creating a signal. Pairs usually sit opposite each other to avoid cheating. Then each player is dealt four cards. When all players have four cards, four more cards are placed down on the table. It then becomes a race for each player to pick up the cards needed to make four of a kind. When four cards are down and all players agree the cards are not needed, they are “flushed” and four more cards are placed down on the table.
Once a player has four of a kind, he or she must perform the agreed-upon signal. If a player from one team catches the other team signaling, he or she can call “broken” on the opposite team. If the team has four of a kind and is called “broken”, that team has lost. If, on the other hand, a team does not have four of a kind when it is called “broken,” that team automatically wins. If one team member sees the other member signal and calls “Kent,” the team wins.”"

Thanks to bloggers for the instructions. Also, we never called it Kent, it was called something else like Secret or Secret Signal or something else.
Then again, you could always just yell KABOOM! when your partner gives you the signal. LOL. Sry, it sounded silly ^_^

This game is SUPER fun. You can use intrigue and deception to make your opponents think you have 4 of a kind when you really don’t so you win. This can backfire however if you do anything that your partner might perceive as the secret signal and they call you on it when you’re bluffing. Then you lose the game. And the best part is it only gets funner the more you play!
Eventually your opponents will start to figure out your secret signals and you will have to become sneakier and more creative with your signals.

If you’re unsure how the “race,” part of the game goes, once everybody has 4 cards in their hands and there are 4 cards on the table, you pick up 1 card and put another down. Or you can pick up 2 and put 2 down, etc
This way the table always has 4 cards on it and everybody has a chance to take what they need.

::EDIT:: Oh hey I just remembered what we called it. It was called Kemps! So when you see your partner using the secret signal you say “Kemps!” And if your opponents start thumbing their earlobes and twitching their eyebrows you say “Kemps!” if you think they have 4-of a kind to win.
