Does anyone remember playing a card game in the late 60-early 70′s called Shanghai or Liverpool Rummy?

Serious answers only. I think you were delt 11 cards and played sets and runs and you could buy, but we can’t remember if this is correct, or the scoring details. We are old and need help.

my family plays shanghi all the time. its our favorite game!
you get ten cards.you start with 2 sets of 3. ya know, 333, or 555. if you want a card thats been laid down, you say ‘ill buy that’ or ‘hyneerg!’ or anything to get their attention. if they dont want it, you take that card + the one from the top of the deck. when you have your 3 sets, on your turn you lay them down. then you out but your not out of the hand unless you get rid of all your cards. then if someone(s) not laid down, their shanghied, and get all the points in their hand. 10′s,jacks,queens, and kings are wourth 10 points, aces are worth 15, and everything else is worth whatever # it is. aces can be high or low when your doing runs.
The next hand is 1 run and 1 set. a run is like, 1,2,3,4, or 8,7,6,5, or, 10, jack, queen, king, and so on. the next after that is two runs, then 3 sets, then a run and 2 sets, then a set and 2 runs, then 3 runs. then you go back down the line. the one withe the least points at the end wins! fun game, i thin youll really enjoy it. moms telling me to get off of the comp. now though so enjoy! hope this helps.
