Win 7, is the best system to play? why?

Many people often talk “Win7″ is the best operating system to play games, I wanna know why it is, only because It is able to run games with directx 11? directx 11 doesn’t matter much yet! almost all of games are with directx 10 right? I can count on my fingers the games with directx 11.

windows 7 is great for more up to date games, and soime games even require it, the only downside is is that its more for modern games than older games, alot of game from before 2000 (with a fair few exceptions) won’t work on windows 7 whereas they have more of a chance on say, windows xp
