What is a good program for making games?

Well, I’ve been learning Java (No, not Java script) and C++ and I’m sitting here wondering “What is a good program to start making 3D games?”. So I turned to my best friend (next to google) yahoo answers.

So, I’m willing to pay for it (that is with money), my scripting is moderate at best, and my computers graphics card just got an upgrade. Well? What do you say for me?

(I’m also looking for a good animation and model designing program as well.)

Sometimes it would be better to get a good book for game programming because it would probably show step by step on how to produce a good video game and it usually would include a CD which includes programs, code, instructions, and etc. which would help you to learn game programming and create your own video games.
