What is this solitaire game called?
The rules are that you shuffle the deck and lay 4 cards face up. If two cards share the same suite, you lay two more cards from the stack over them face up. Repeat until there are no matching suites. If you deplete the entire deck you win. My father taught me the game when I was young and called it Idiot’s Delight, but apparently Idiot’s Delight is a different game. Did he make this game up, or does it have a name?
I believe your Dad made it up specially for you. It is such a simple game. It sounds tailor made for a small child. It would be the perfect game to introduce a child to solitaire. Idiot’s Delight has been applied to more than one solitaire game and there is no reason why it could not be applied to your Dad’s game. I am sorry you cannot ask your Dad the question you ask here. Your Dad has or had a fine creative spirit.
