Card Games Hearts Strategy

How often do you change your strategy in games?
When you play with the same people over the years, you start to realize that everyone has their own strategy at certain games. Then, now and then, one of them will stray from it, sometimes just for fun, other times to throw the rest of us off.
My husband and his dad taught me how to play backgammon last summer, and my husband and I have been playing now and then. And they taught me what they both agreed on being the best strategies. They both played with those strategies every since, until suddenly, my husband switched on me last night! Then there are card games, like Hearts and Rummy…my mother-in-law always gets rid of the high cards (the risk of high points!) immediately, while others hold on to them.
What about you? Games like Settlers, Backgammon, card games. Do you tend to stick to the same strategy, or do you switch now and then? And do you switch for the fun of it, to see how it turns out, or do you switch to throw off your competitors?
i think out my strategy and apply it. not just any kind. a type that will not only be hard to find out, but will be very effective. i tend to alter my strategy so it would seem that i do not have one. itz good to have multi strategies incase ur others do not work. don’t think that ur strategy can’t be found out. if ur pattern iz figured out, ur screw. A true gamer have a plan and can learn from others. u might want to throw off ur opponent by adding a couple of unpredictable wildcardz.
