Drinking Card Games – Golf

Golf can be played in more than one way. Most people may think that golf is played outdoors on a golf course with golf clubs and a tiny ball. This form of golf is a card game very popular with the drinking crowd as it as evolved into a fun drinking game.

The startup of this game goes as follows: Each person is dealt four cards face down which are placed in front of them forming a square. Each person gets to look at two of their cards for about two seconds and they cannot look at any of their cards after that, so you must remember what your cards are.

The general gameplay goes as follows: The object is to have the lowest value of cards, just like in golf you want the lowest score. The values are as follows: King is worth zero, Ace is worth one, each face value up to 10 has that value, Jack is worth 11, Queen is worth 12. So for a quick example, you do not want Queens, Jacks, 10′s or any of those higher valued cards.

The rest of the deck sits in the middle and one card is turned over, also known as the discard pile. The person to the left of the dealer begins by either taking the one card from the discard pile or taking one card from the top of the deck. He or she then replaces that card with one of their 4 cards or they can decide to discard it if they don’t want it.

When you feel you have the lowest hand, when it comes to your turn you knock instead of drawing a card and then everyone has one more turn and then the cards are revealed.

If you knocked and you don’t have the lowest score, you chug your beer. If you knock and you do have the lowest score then you give out a full beer, plus the others have to drink the difference to your score.
