Is the spec of this laptop good enough?
My partner and I want a laptop mainly for entertainment reasons i.e. watching dvd’s and writing stuff, downloading, photos and making mini movies from our camcorder. Playing games and surfing the net. Could you tell me in dummy terms if this laptop sounds good enough for what we need:-
ACER
Dual Core Processor 2.0GHz
2GB Ram
250GB Memory
15″ Widescreen
Windows Vista
Dedicated Graphics Card NVIDA GF8600m 256MB (better than the one we have now in our PC and it’s dedicated and not shared so it has it’s own memory)
DVD/CD Writer
Wireless Read
Webcam installed

I would think that it would have every thing you need. Its allmost too powerfull for what you need it for.
When getting a laptop my advise is not to go for one thats the top of the range, just go for what you need.
ACER are good as you are not paying for the name. If you brought a sony you would add 200 quid just for the name sony on it.
As other people have said, make sure that you check that your cam is compatiable with it.
Vista still has quite a few problems and some people are removing it and placing xp back on. I dont think you will have any problems with Vista doing what you are doing, but might be worth turning off the aero.
