Should I Download PS1 games or Get the Disc Copy of PS1 Games?

I would like to know which i should buy for my PS3
I want to get Spyro 1 2 and 3, and Crash Team Racing, all of these

Should i…
>>>Download the PS1 games for $6 each onto my PS3 from the online PSN store
OR
>>>Buy the physical Disc Copy of the games for $12 each from my Local game store (to play on PS3)

(yes, at my local game store, they have PS1 games, don’t worry)
(can downloaded games save the same as disc copy games do?)
(don’t explain to me about the internal memory card, i know about that, I’m not a dummy)
(also, whats the difference between Spyro 1, and Spyro 1: collectors edition?)

What are the Pros and Cons from getting either the Disc Copy, or PSN Download?
I do NOT, nor intend to, have a PSP, so don’t associate your answers with that,

and all the games i want are available both ways, the PSN store, and my Local Game store
so dont worry about some games not available in some places, its not an issue

I would say decide on what you would prefer:

DOWNLOAD PROS
you might be able to back it up onto another drive
cheaper than the rip off store you’re thinking of going to (ebay is sometimes cheaper)

DOWNLOAD CONS
Drive is still susceptable to damage/corruption
May take ages to download
Not completely secure transaction (no internet place is safe from hackers)

DISC PROS
its physically there
re-saleability (collectors items)
its a peice of gaming history (i have only got all original copies of games, some dating back to the Atari Pong machine)

DISC CONS
You can lose the disc
Break the disk
disk might not play.
