Difference between GBA and DS games?

I just bought a DS online, and while I am waiting for it to arrive I would like to purchase a couple of games. The details said it would also play GBA games. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the two (i.e., do the DS games have better graphics?) I am mostly looking for card games (including euchre), logic/brain teasers . . . what are your favorites?

GBA stands for game boy advance. It was the system before the Nintendo DS came out. The difference is that the Nintendo DS has better graphics, but it also shows the game on both screens, hence the name Nintendo “Dual Screen”.

GBA games are still playable on the older DS versions, but the current DSi does not play them, so you may have just bought a DS or a DS lite. I’ve had my DS since 2005 and it still runs awesome.

The Brain Age games are great for the DS, so if you’re into brain teasers you’ll have a lot of fun with those. Also look into Pictocross and other puzzle games; the DS has a lot of puzzle/brain teaser games.
