How can I play my Wii games that are stored in my SD card? I tried moving and copying and it says it can’t?

So I had a wii and bought 2 games off the Wii Shop Channel then I sold that Wii console and bought a new one, but before I sold it I moved my 2 games to the SD card. Now I have a new console and want to play those 2 games that are on my SD card, but it says it can’t. Any solutions or suggestions? Thanks for your help.

CONGRATULATIONS! YOU DISCOVERED NINTENDO’S DRM MEASURES!

The DRM keys are tied to the Wii that purchased the games with the Wii Shopping Channel account, which cannot be copied or transferred to another Wii through normal means (Nintendo can transfer this information to a replacement Wii if you send yours in for repairs, but this is a rare occurrence).

When you sold your old Wii, you sold the DRM keys with it as well.

To Recap… NO DRM KEYS = NO GAME ACCESS

If you want to play those 2 titles you got from the Wii Shopping Channel, you’ll have to buy them ALL OVER AGAIN!

Don’t expect Nintendo to give you any sympathy here either since they have buried this in the fine print that you agreed to when accessing the WiiConnect24 network (which the Wii Shopping Channel is a part of).

This is the harsh truth here that you’ll have to live with…
